The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik is the final book in The Scholomance trilogy.
El never really thought about what she would do if she actually made it out of the Scholomance alive. Her sole focus for the past four years, has been not getting killed and not turning into the dark, world destroying witch she was prophesied to be. But to get out alive AND watch her idiot friend/maybe boyfriend not only jump back into the school but directly into the path of a soul destroying monster, was just not what she had imagined.
El saved everyone, except Orion, and the world owes her big time.... except they don't because enclaves are being destroyed and everyone is looking to El to save them. With an enclave war on the horizon and El caught in the middle, it may just be time for El to embrace prophecy and let her rage burn it all down.
Woah, a lot happens in this book. Like a lot. I, personally, loved it. But, I'm not sure everyone will feel that way. Basically, Naomi Novik can do no wrong in my book, so I would have loved this book even if it wasn't awesome. But it was. I love El and even Orion, and their dynamic as a "maybe couple," just works.
This book takes the series full circle and readers will appreciate that there are very few, if any loose ends and that we get an ending that is both complex and fully satisfying.
This book gets 4.5 high stars from me.
That's all for now!
