Call Down the Hawk

Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater is a new YA series with an old friend.

From the The Raven Cycle comes a new trilogy bout the Lynch brothers.

Ronan Lynch is a dreamer. He can pull from his dreams amazing and horrible things. But a dreamer must dream and show Ronan is forced to live on the outskirts of society; normal isn’t something he is capable of.

But Ronan isn’t the only dreamer in the world. As he and his brothers become more entangled in the world of dreamers, the life of lies they once lead is threatened because not everyone wants a world where dreams come true.

Honestly, I couldn’t come up with a better synopsis without giving things away. That being said, I am SO glad we are back in this world with Ronan. He is just such a jerk with a heart. And I just love this world of dreamers and the possibilities it brings to the world.

I know everyone who read The Raven Cycle is going to be dying to see more of Adam and Ronan but I was almost glad that their relationship was on the outskirts of the story. You know it will be important later and it is still highlighted but it isn’t the focus. The focus is on the dreamers and the threat that is after them.

The Lynch brother’s themselves make this story. Declan, Ronan and Mathew are such an interesting balance of angst, caution and spacey. I can’t wait to see how they evolve as the series progresses.

Maggie Stiefvater spins a story that pulls you in and leaves you hanging. It will certainly be a long wait for the next book. This one gets 4.5 high, high stars from me.

That’s all for now!
