I took my daughter to storytime in another library system the other day and the children’s librarian did the cutest flannel, which I just had to recreate. So thanks FCPL!
You are basically telling a story about differently shaped birds: triangle, square, rectangle, circle and oval. And each birdy is trying to find their perfect nest. So they test out different bird houses until they find the right one. You can get the kids to tell you if the shape fit and you can also work in some shape and color identification too.
I used googly eyes for my birds to make them a little more fun. Each bird house has a black shape the same size and shape as the bird whose home it is, so it fits like a puzzle piece.
I can’t wait to use this one for a shaped themed storytime!
That’s all for now!
