Totally been slacking on the blog front lately. I have several posts scheduled, so hopefully, I am back on track!
For baby storytime, I went rhyme crazy! I just was in a finger play/rhyming mood, so we added to our repertoire.
Here's what I had planned:
We Clap and Sing Hello We clap and sing hello, We clap and sing hello, With our friends at storytime, We clap and sing hello! (Wave and sing hello; stomp and sing hello.)
Wake Up Feet Wake up feet, wake up feet Wake up feet and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle Wake up feet, wake up feet Wake up and wiggle in the morning. (Also: hands, ears, knees, fingers, hips, etc.)
Stretching, Stretching, Stretching Stretching, stretching, stretching Now I’m very tall. Shrinking, shrinking, shrinking Now I’m very small. Now tall. Now small. Now I’m a little ball.
BOOK – Up, Up, Up, Down by Kimberly Gee read with permission by Penguin Random House
I ended up reading and then signing this whole book in ASL. It is the perfect book to sign, with two words per page. And most of the signs were very simple for little ones.
Slowly, Slowly, Very Slowly Slowly, slowly, very slowly up the garden rail Slowly, slowly, very slowly creeps the garden snail Quickly, quickly, very quickly all around the house. Quickly, quickly, very quickly runs the garden mouse.
Jumping Beans One, two, three, four, Beans came jumping Through the door. Five, six, seven, eight, Jumping up Onto my plate.

Boing! Boing! Squeak! Boing! Boing! Squeak! Boing! Boing! Squeak! A bouncing mouse is in my house, It’s been there for a week. It bounced from out of nowhere, Then it quickly settled in. I’m grateful that it came alone, I’ve heard it has a twin. It bounces in the kitchen, It bounces in the den, It bounces through the living room — Look! There it goes again.
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom Zoom, zoom, zoom We’re going to the moon. Zoom, zoom, zoom We’re going to the moon. If you want to take a trip climb aboard my rocket ship. Zoom, zoom, zoom We’re going to the moon. In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Blast off!
We Clap and Sing Goodbye We clap goodbye like this…. We clap goodbye like this…. With our friends at storytime, We clap goodbye like this…. (Wave goodbye; stomp goodbye.)
How'd it go:
I ended up cutting out Rolling, Rolling Little Hands because time was just getting away from me. That ASL book took a lot longer than I anticipated but I also think it went really well. Baby giggles were heard by all.
That's all for now!
