Hi Guys,
My next family storytime is going to be all about transportation. I like to have at least one flannel board for this storytime, so I decided to make some cars.
I made a very basic car shape and standard car features. To make this flannel even more versatile, I used different colors and numbered my car. Now I can use these cars and several different ways.
You can do a couple different rhymes:
There are lots of cars driving down the street.
Tell me what color do you see?
Big cars, little cars
Beep, beep, beep.
There are lots of cars driving down the street!
You can do a spin off of 5 little monkeys with 5 fast race cars:
Five fast race cars speeding round the track.
The first car said, “I can’t look back!”
The second car said, “Oh, no! I’m out of gas!”
The third car said, “Beep! Beep! I’m fast!”
The fourth car said, “Vroom, vroom. I win!”
The fifth car said, “Vroom, vroom. I win!”
Then beep went a horn and flash went the lights.
And five fast race cars sped out of sight.
You can also work with counting cars and identifying colors.
This was a quick, easy flannel with lots of possibilities.
That’s all for now!
